Greetings from a scuba noob!

My wife and I recently completed our PADI Open Water Diver certification on a trip to Hawaii, and are embarking on a second trip to Puerto Rico this coming weekend for her birthday.

Due to a rather inexpensive vacation package deal, we are staying in Rio Grande, east of San Juan, and know nothing of with whom and where we should dive. We do have a rental car, however, so we can travel to other parts of the island as necessary. That said, it may be difficult for us to make it as far as Rincon, or other Southwest parts of the island by 7am for an early dive, so we'd love to hear about dive shops and/or sites near where we'll be staying. (That said, any recommendations, regardless of location, will be kindly appreciated!)

Much of this trip is last minute, but I'm hopeful that other members of this board can potentially provide us with some direction, if not specific recommendations. As we are new divers, we are also utmost beginners, and consequently want to dive with an experienced crew whose focus is on safety, and who won't mind catering to the needs of beginners like us.

Thanks in advance for any direction you can provide!
