Hi all!
I found this site today and registered. I've been diving since May-2008 (9 dives by now). And I feel I'll be loving it more and more as my experience deepens:)

I'll be in Dubai for vacation during the first week of March and I'd like to dive in one of those days. It's going to be my first dive abroad and probably, I'll be attending a daily trip alone. Any suggestions/comments about a first experience in another country?

I did a dive in Dubai a couple of months ago. Be warned that the viz is known not to be great there, since the vast amount of construction really stirs up that part of the gulf. For boat diving around the city, there are a few different sites that the boat operators will go to (we went to the Car Barge, right off "The World" islands, and visibility was near-zero: YouTube - Dubai Scuba Dive).

If you have an entire day to spare, I hear the better strategy is to book a day-trip to Fujairah or Oman. You leave early in the morning and get back well into the evening, but the diving is supposed to be much better.

There are several operators, one is Pavilion Dive Shop in the Jumeirah Beach Resort, another is Al Boom Diving. I'd recommend contacting them before you go to see what their schedule/availability is.

Thanks Gombessa,
I'm planning to take a day-trip to a better site, as you recommend.
I'll contact the operators asap.
