Hi all new here, I'm Nicki & my partner is Russ. We're in Staffordshire, UK, advanced gained this year. Having a nightmare trying to connect new Mares Icon HD to PC!! Help anyone?? :shocked2:
 
Ive posted my solution to this problem on another strand but here it is again

Hi

Thought I'd post a solution to a problem I found in case anyone else is having trouble getting their Mares ICON computer to work with their PC.

When I installed the Mares Dive Organiser it didn't find the USB linked ICON dive computer and windows (Vista)signalled that it couldn't find the USB driver it needed. The Mares site is useless - their support site doesn't even support the ICON - all you get is an email address to write to!!!!

The solution which worked for me was to wait until windows failed to find the driver it wanted and point it manually to the driver which is called usbser-mares.inf It had been put in the folder

C:\Program Files\Mares\DiveOrganizer\Drivers

on my PC. Once installed the problem was resolved. What I can't understand is why such flaky drivers and software are still being issued with p*** poor support on the otherwise all singing and dancing website.

Hope this helps anyone else struggling to get the "i-phone of dive computers" to link to their PC
