My friend, I don't think you know what a can of worms you have just opened. What type of diving do you do, and what type of diving do you plan to do? Do you have relatively strong legs, or are they injured, or weakened in any way?
I myself prefer my Scubapro Jetfins. They are very maneuverable, offer great thrust, and are basically bulletproof. They get knocked for being heavy, or causing cramps because you need strong legs to stay comfortable on these fins.
When I'm playing around in the water, force fins are great. They make great spear fishing fins IMHO. They are super maneuverable, and lightning fast, great for bursts of speed. I (I know alot of people will threaten to kill me, my family, and everyone I have ever known or loved for saying this, but this is my opinion) don't feel that they make for very good SCUBA fins because they require a nice, quick flutter rhythm to make them work well, which burns air quicker. I know this will be contested, but that's my $0.02.
I haven't met a true 'split' fin that I like, but that may be bacause I have an affinity for my Jets. My instructor loves his Scubapro TwinJets. He says they feel 'like pillows'....his words, not mine. He feels that they are very maneuverable and hella easy on his legs.
I know this is alot of varied information, at the end of the day, do your homework. Read up, talk to other divers, most importantly, borrow, rent, buy, or steal, a few types of fins before you make any decisions. I have been diving for just under a year now, and I have 6 sets of fins.....
I hope this helps.
