Hi all,

It'll be my first time , and I will be diving in the Gold Coast , Australia. Recommend any good outfits? Anyone ever heard of Blue Juice Diving? I inquired, and they were quick to respond (good sign); package was a 6 day a. open water + b. advanced open water license for 850AUD. Is that a decent price? Do you think I really need the Advanced license. I'm extremely excited and anticipate this as a new passion since I love marine sports. Any recommendations/advice/info. would be greatly appreciated!

Bryan in Tokyo

Hi Bryan, welcome to the board.. ( alot of info )

In my opion, the 2cent version. Yes AOW would be a good idea, gives you a chance to learn the basics of Nav, night, and maybe Enriched air. If you decide to add it. Gives you a chance to work on your a trim a bit more, under instruction. Another set of eyes, is always good. (Im trying to remember everything that was in that class..) But anyways, the Nav, search patterns and such will defently help you out later on.

Welcome to ScubaBoard! :happywave

I think that if you achieve a higher skill level in your diving that it will make you diving more enjoyable. So, I would say go for advanced training.

Don't forget to fill out your profile and dive info, so that we can add context to your future posts. Also, once we know where you are geographically, you may find that you'll have a whole bunch of new dive buddies to choose from locally.

Dive safe!

Christian

P.S. Due to the high volume of new posts in the Introductions and Greets forum, it's not always possible to keep up with all the new posts here. So, please help me out and send me a PM if you post anything you want me to read or repsond to in this forum.

Bryan, if you want some advice regarding training, you can shout me a beer at our next get together on September 29 when we have Chris Bangs as our guest speaker.
