New zeagle ranger ltd shoulder replacement question

I replaced the shoulders on my ranger ltd. I'm having a hard time with the cord to the release valve.
to remove the old cord I just untied the knot under the bell shaped Handel. But putting the new one on... IDE have to untie the knot .. Thread it down the rubber hose and tie the knot back... Has to be a better way...

please help leaving Friday on a cruise and need to get this bc packed.

ScotchTape the dump string to a wire clothes hanger and push it down the channel.

That's what I think every time I get stuck putting Ranger LTD's together in the Assembly Department

Gene's suggestion is a good one. Just don't stab yourself or the vest.
