In addition to HTMS Kram near Ko Pai, we now have a new wreck, HTMS Kut, near Pattaya.

See article: "September 17th 2006, Placing Royal Boat "Grood" (sic) for New Diving Spot" at

http://www.pattaya.com/index_eng.asp

http://www.thaiwreckdiver.com/wreckblog/?p=4

Built by the Pullman Standard Car Manufacturing Company (Chicago, IL), and commissioned on 25 November 1944, the former USS LSM 333 (LSM 1 class) saw action during the assault and occupation of Okinawa Gunto (28 April to 18 May 1945) with William Russell Schulhof, USNR, in command. After the end of the Second World War, USS LSM 333 was transferred to the Royal Thai Navy in October 1946 under MAP.

Renamed HTMS Kut (LSM 1, later renumbered LSM 731), she served in the Royal Thai Navy for 57 years and now rests at Latitude 12° 57.1' N, Longtitude 100° 48.1' E near Ko Saak, just a short boat ride from Pattaya.

Depth 25 -28m is good for recreational and tech wreck penetration divers
Thanks...vie

this is a wreck i definetly want to dive... i've done the Khram about 60 times.. but the kood sounds like fun.. if its off Koh sak then anything is more interesting that seeing the cubes for the umpteenth time!!

Update - May 2007

I've dived the kood a good 30 times now.. i've navigated all around the place, found a cool air pocket..and a secret place where there is a large Nurse Shark.. IM me and i may tell you the spot..then again..

It's a great dive, I got to do it when it was newly sunk.... don't you think though that they could have sunk it in a better location? That bit off Koh Sak doesn't really lend itself to great viz...

I know where the big shark is too...

Indeed.

yes..they sunk it in the middle of the current channel between Pattaya Mainland and Koh Sak.. I'd have preferred it if they had put it the other side of Koh Sak.. on the gradient so the bow is around 20m and the stern is lower down... would double up as a tech Wreck too
