Hey divers!

I'm Mikey and I'm new to this forum, though I've been diving for about three years - I'm an advanced, cave and Nitrox diver. I've mostly dived around Florida and Georgia, but this spring break I'm headed to the Bahamas and I'm dive-trip planning like crazy!

I'm still on a college student budget so I'm trying to balance low cost and max dives :) If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know!! On the one hand I don't want a very touristy dive experience, but I do want to experience Bahamian diving, so any suggestions on reasonably priced dive operations (on any Bahamian island) that show you a great dive for the money would be appreciated!!

Cheers everyone, and hope to contribute around here soon :)

First Welcome to SB,
Second I feel the $$ Pain, travel, dive, stay all add's up

Nassau is the tourist area most cruise ships hits,
Grand Bahama would be my choice it has several wrecks to dive and reef and other dives to have including a inner Island cavern spring dive only to be done by authorization and guide, real cool!
, to save money, try to stay at Bellchanel in just a short walk out of PortLucaya and dive shop & boat on premiss's,small bar with food and less expensive clean and neat rooms 2 1/4 blocks from beach, and they have a small pool but the Our Lucaya down the street you can get a day pass and it's on some swweeeet Beach,Port Lucaya has the pubs, fast food, and night life-take a cab back to hotel at night or they do have a car may pick you up,,

hey brad, thanks for the advice! I'm actually planning on heading down to the keys in about three weeks for a week-long dive trip and noticed your profile said you're a fan of diving down there! I haven't really had a chance to explore diving down south much (I live in the panhandle) and was wondering if you had any suggestions for must-see/must-do dives in the keys? If you could throw out a couple of names or spots it would be really appreciated!
