No experience needed and it feels great!

I have a little story to add here...........

It all started with a plan to go Winter Camping.

My boyfriend (ScubaJedi) had always been kinda lukewarm about the idea of diving - he knew I love it (okay, I'm obsessed ;) ) but after he tried out caving at my behest and found he wasn't completely comfortable with it, we both didn't want me pushing him toward my other interests.
But a bunch of divers from a local shop decided they'd like to go winter camping a couple of months ago. Now my boyfriend and I don't really have any shared outdoor activities, but we've both camped before so I thought the winter camping idea would be ideal.

The organizational meeting was held at the dive shop.

After the meeting, we browsed through the shop a bit. He seemed dazzled by all the beautiful gear - fresh wetsuits, blue- and red-brushed aluminum tanks attached to gleaming BCDs, colorful fins, and shiny regulators. He started asking me the names of some of the parts of the display setups, and what the buttons did. I described things simply and he was just soaking it all up. He also flatly informed me that my own gear (backplate and wing) just isn't as "sexy" as the display stuff! :D :D ROFL

So yesterday we finally booked him in for a Discover Scuba at the shop. He showed up with a towel and bathing suit and was promptly whisked away to the pool while I hung around and chatted with the dive shop owner. I had to restrain myself from staying plastered to the window to watch - after all I didn't want to be a distraction! All too soon (it seemed) I went to check on them and they were already finished their dive and out of the pool.

When he emerged I started to ask him how it went but his grin was already ear-to-ear and he had that gleam in his eye that we all know so well........

We never did end up going winter camping, after all........

He's hooked!! :eyebrow:

Sorry to hear about your loss ;)

Thank you very much. Its good to finally be here. Though I was initially frightened not by the water but the price of gear, I realized its a small price for such a cool activity! (though It'll be a while before I'm set up with full gear, course and education) But it just felt good to be in the water.

No loss.
All is good .

thanks

Scubajedi :)
