Hey,
Retired and moved from the Stated to Curacao. Any questions about the island,I am sure I can help.
Found the Board because my equipment is wearing out and I need to research new stuff.
Not a lot of selection on the island but I would like some feedback before investing/upgrading to new gear.

Hi! I'm headed to Curacao April 4 for my second time there. Had a blast last time and looking forward to doing the same this time.
I am staying at Sunset Waters. Where are you on the island?

Good luck with your new gear search!

I live about 20 min from SSW, very near Habitat.

Finding a selection of gear on the island is an issue.

Almost two years.
And boy do we have stories to tell. Not the greatest time for new retirees.

I can imagine that gear selection would be limited - and pricey. I've left various bits of gear as tips (when specifically requested or mentioned) over the years. Wonder if you'd be able to do better on Bonaire, seeing as it's so dive-dedicated. Don't know what the current inter-island transportation situation is... It was a bear :bonk:seven years ago!

Ah! Near Habitat. That I can figure out. One of these days maybe I'll stay somewhere less remote than SSW and or rent a car, but SSW's kinda like summer camp and so easy. The last time, I was under the water or at the poolbar or pleasure-cruising on the boat so much that I only made it off property for the beach party!

I feel the "bad time to retire" blues. I am due to go out in two years, but...
