Hello all

I am new to Tampa area (2 years or so) but have been a rec, etc, and pro diver for decades. I’m looking for recommendations for local shops for gas fills, tank rentals, etc. Better yet if they have a good service tech in house. Also interested in local sites of interest to dive that anyone may steer us to.

Tampa area is pretty big, and there are lots of dive shops in the area. I'm more familiar with the dive shops on the Pinellas side than in Hillsborough.

I mostly use Heroes Dive Center in Dunedin for fills, gear, and service. They do good work on my gear
Letts Dive in St. Petersburg is newer, but seems decent.
Bill Jacksons in Pinellas Park is one of the larger places around. It's not just a dive shop though. They do run annual sales that are pretty decent. Scuba sale should be coming up in a couple weeks.

For freshwater diving, it's mostly a bit north in the Gainesville vicinity. Devil's Den, Blue Grotto, and Ginnie Springs are probably the most popular.

For saltwater. Tons of good places in the Gulf, they all require a boat though. 2Sheas runs regular trips in the area with several boats.
