Hello all Im getting back into diving after a long stint off. I have gear and will travel. I'm located in winston. I am going through a full class as a refresher. I have done dives all over the world in the navy. Let me know if I can tag along with you and your buddy or you need a buddy. Thanks!

Welcome to the ScubaBoard! Check out the Regional Forums and Clubs site for a club close to you!!!!

Hey tempo... We have a dive club over here in Hickory NC "Blue Ridge Dive Club" but may be a bit to far for you... There is a lot of pretty good diving in the area but it depends on your interest... e.g. Cooper River (Charleston SC area) is great muck diving for artifacts, Wrecks, Meg teeth, lobster, fishing all along the coast of NC and SC. Quarries out the yang!

Our club is heading to Lake Rawlings SC come July 21/22 and you would be more than welcome to join in. I know many of us head out to the coast for diving and if the weather holds, plenty of good diving but beware, there are plenty of blow outs as well....

Welcome to the forum and if there is anything I can do for you, please don't hesitate to ask!

thanks for the replys. I dont mind driving to Hickory i think its only a little over an hr from my house. Let me know if you are having a meeting or diving close to the area. I may try and go to the dive in July. Do you have a sight i can go to? i would like to try a quarry in your area so let me know if you have a date in mind.
Thanks
Thad

Thad, our website is blueridgediveclub.com and has events listed. Click on details for further info regarding the event... You have Blue Stone Quarry up in your neck of the woods. 20.00 to dive for the day and is not a bad way to just relax...

We have Lake Norman quarry just North of Charlotte (Mooresville) but requires a membership to join (if interested, I can get you a membership but not pushing one. Its the Piedmont Fire and Rescue Association or PDRA). There are 3 quarry's associated with the PDRA; Lake Norman (as mentioned) American Quarry in Salisbury NC (Just west of Charlotte) and Robertson's Quarry in Blanch NC (up by Danville VA).

If your looking to dive, I can be free any weekday evening or weekend...

Anything else I can do, again, just let me know... If you want to speak by phone, send me a message and I will reply with email and phone. Just click on the name "lsorenson" and you will see the option to send a message...

I know I'm a little late in my post but I've had a busy summer thus far. I live in the Charlotte area and lost my dive buddy this year due to work obligations and my Air Force duties. I am looking for a steady dive partner for either the Lake Norman area and I'm also willing to travel to Bluestone Quarry, which is a nice place. I am a long standing member of the Piedmont dive Rescue Association (PDRA) which was mentioned in an earlier comment. Would like to get in touch with you if your still looking for someone.

Welcome to SB. I'm in Asheville area and do quite abit of diving at Lake Jocassee SC, check out Lake Jocassee Dive Shop online. Great lake diving covering everthing from new divers to technical divers. Lake has an interesting history with lots to see from 30ft to 350ft in depth, vis is usually good and gets even better when passing the thermocline. Hope to see you out there some time.
