Welcome aquaengineer. You are quite right, this is a great place to get started. You will find a lot of help from just about everyone here and there are a lot of dive professionals (Instructors/assistant instructors/dive masters/Dive Cons) that are very passionate about the sport and are always more than willing to answer your questions to the best of their ability and share their knowledge.
