Greetings

Switched over from a point and shoot system to a Nikon D300 with a 12-28 wide angle lens.

Looking for a few tips:

I will be in Bonaire and looking for suggestions on camera settings. As you can read the shots will mostly be wide angle with a DS-161 and DS-51 strobes.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

You get what you pay for so here you go...

-Shoot RAW or RAW/JPEG
-Typically set WB to Cloudy
-In general ISO should be 200
-I set my color to Vivid, just a personal preference
-I always shoot Manual so don't know anything about TTL

Not familiar with the 12-28 lens?
-In general start at f.8 and ISO of 200 and strobes on 1/2 power, for WA
-As always the closer you can get the better
-Don't blast the subject with light, paint it with light. Think your strobes are of different power so you can use the smaller one to light subjects close to you and the larger to light the background CFWA

Hope that helps

Thanks for the advice.

As you probably already know, Bonaire is more of a macro place than WA. You might try to buy (or borrow) a 60 mm or 105 mm Nikkor micro lens plus the appropriate flat port.

Purchased a 105 the night before I left town. Very glad I did.
