Hi,

Lurked on and off and just registered becasue I am shopping for a pony setup and was wondering I should expect to pay. I don't have anything, tank, reg, hose, gauge, nothing for a pony. I want a tank mount 19cf. I am looking at the XS SCUBA XTR system. Is this a good setup? Any experience with it? Something better I should look at? I dove all last year without a pony. Its not that I don't trust my buddy, I trust me more...

I bought a used 19cf pony on Ebay for $35 plus shipping. Same for regs and hose, used set for $25. Button SPG was $19. You can pay a lot more if you think you need new stuff.

Go to DIR-diver.com - Stagebottle rigging and folow the directions provided using parts from the local hardware store. As Garrobo stated $35 for the cylinder, $25 regulator, $19 button submersable pressure guage and probably $5 worth of Ace Hardware parts = $84 approximately.

Or, dig into your retirement savings and buy some expensive system from OMS, Dive Rite, XS Scuba, etc.....

Depends...not all BCs are ideal for "slingin"
