I found a new snap (new for me) that I think has some real advantages. Solid brass, kind of a large aligator snap design. It has a straight closure (red arrow) that doesn't require and slack to release. It also has a "thumb lock" (white arrow) that I removed so it won't accidently be unreleasable. Let me know what you think. They are made in Italy and I found them in a saddle shop where I was having a rank carrier sewn. Any other advantages or disadvantages?
