Ricoh announced an update to the Caplio line of camera's today. This is the body that Sea&Sea uses for it's popular DX series UW camera's.

This is an 8mpix camera, and looks to be the fastest PnS to date when measuring focus aquire, and shooting.

What maybe more worthwhile to many is that if Sea&Sea does build around this body, the 5mpix version which is currently selling for OVER 1K (IMO overpriced considering other options) may get a good price bump and become more affordable.

When Sea & Sea's first Aquapix digital camera came out it looked exciting. Now nobody will care. You are right about the pricing.

I would like for Sea & Sea to make housings for the Canon G6 or Nikon Coolpix 8400. The last Nikon p/s they housed was a 5400. I would love to see the G6 with a 5-pin strobe connector.

i would agree that its over priced.

the other one is i bet that camera images are going to be noisy as all get out(above what ever is the lowest iso setting) because that camera has a very small sensor for so many pixels. but only samples prove the tale.

FWIW
