I have just uploaded some pics taken in Walea, it was my 3rd time with a camera underwater...

Waiting for some comments...

Ciao Erik Il Rosso

Nice job, Erik. You have a nice variety of subjects and I like the colors. I have a color blind issue so if I see color, you did something right.

I'm just a dumb newbie, but I think a few of your pics are a bit soft. Maybe a little editing can sharpen them for you. The "pros" here with more knowledge should be of more help. I'll be just as interested as you to hear what they have to say.

Thanks for sharing!

Nice photos Erik... My wife uses a Canon S70 as well...

Did you use the UW white balance setting when you shot these photos?

What setting on the dial did you use? Auto, P, or a Manual Setting?

Herebelow you will find all the details requested:

1) Tv Mode (Shutter priority 1/100)
2) ISO 100
3) Macro on/off depending on distance
4) Flash on
5) White balance auto
6) All pictures post processed with Canon's Zoombrowser for white balance using "Eye Dropper"

In future I do not want to post process my pics anymore and I will set white balance with a white slate while I am underwater...

Water in Walea (Central Sulawesi) was particulary clear...

Erik,

I think the UW white balance mode on the camera itself is pretty good. The photos in my gallery are with the S70 with the internal flash only. We don't use a white slate, and the colors come out great... I would also set the ISO to 50 instead of 100.

Most of our photos were shot in P mode, or Manual with 1/100th and f5

You are right but I tend to be a perfectionist and want to try to get "The Perfect UW Photo" without any digital post processing...

This is why I will shoot all my next pics using the custom UW white balance...
