Hi folks, has anyone tried the new Nauticam Mid-range Focus Optimizer 1 (MFO-1) on the Olympus 60mm macro yet? Would love to hear whether it improved the auto-focus speed or offered other benefits.

I'm contemplating buying one and want to get feedback from somebody who used it also but it is so new, I doubt that people have had the chance to use them yet.

BTW, thank you for starting the thread:)

I don’t think it’s available yet, for public sale. It still shows “Available for Pre-Order” on Backscatter.com and when I talked to the Nautilus rep at DEMA he did not have a definitive release date.

If you follow Waterpixel.com, Chris Ross provides a detailed description of what the MFO-1 does. It has to do with bending light toward the edges of the lens, but I'm only repeating what he wrote. I can ask him if I can re-post his answer here, if you'd like?

The entire discussion at waterpixel is interesting.
