Hi Looneybirds, I just wanted to introduce myself: Joe Talafous of Chamblee, GA

I've recently moved here and want to break into the Lake Lanier dive scene. I dived a lot at Lake Travis in Austin TX, 2001-2004 and spend a lot of time at 135 ft. lying in the muck in January at 54 degrees in my hooded 7mm. :) Hope Lake Lanier is nicer! If not, that's even better! How often do y'all go? Where do we meet? I've got to get my tanks VIP'd but as soon as they get back, I will be getting wet.

Where is the best place to get your tanks filled up there? Does anybody carpool from here? Do we get access to the damn wall?

Cheers,
Joe

welcome to the looney birds, try divers supply, its at 85 and 285 in doraville, you have to take a boat to dive the dam unless you are a real strong swimmer or good at climbing large rocks with scuba gear strapped on. we are planning a dive and dine there saturday at westbank park,it is on the dam.

Thanks! If my tanks get back from VIP I'll definitely be there, otherwise I'll keep an eye open here.
