Hello everyone!!! I recently became intrested in becoming certified and its been awesome to see how many other people share this excitement. I live in miami and I was wondering if there are any other people on the forum who would recommend in particular shop to get certified and what you think is the best diving expierence for a new diver as myself. thanks a lot everyone!!!!

lucky.
It's a lot easier to find places to shop and dive in FL -- I'm in the land locked dakotas. I'm sure you'll get lots of good advice here.:)
welcome

Ha I cannot help help either except to say that going to NAUI Worldwide :: Information for Serious Divers or PADI. The Way The World Learns to Dive would be a good way to start. They are two of the bigger names in SCUBA and both websites will give you basic information and will allow you to search for dive shops in you area. I agree with mor though, you should have a much easier time in FL than we have up here in PA... good luck and enjoy!

Welcome to ScubaBoard!

I just got certified with my daughter last spring and we took a trip afterwards to the Keys and Weston. Trained with our LDS so I'm not sure about their training, but we enjoyed diving with Tilden's in Marathon, and South Florida Diving Headquarters (in Pompano Beach near hillsborough inlet if I remember correctly). Shallow dives for our first blue water dives--enjoyed the sites and the crew was great.

I'm sure someone from the area could give you good info on where to get certified. Good luck and dive safe!

Thank you so much everyone! you have been a lot of help I am super excited about scuba diving and cant wait to share all the great stories!

If you are up to a 3 day week end Ocean Divers in Key Largo offers excellent training and all your dives will be off their dive boats. They have accommodations, hotel on premises, as well as dorm like setting if you are going by yourself. I took my IDC Instructor Development Course from them and can't speak highly enough about them J.C.
