Hello all,

My name is Mike & just finished up my certification course (PADI) here in Baltimore in July. My fiancee & I did our first dive together on vacation in August down in Key Largo. We used Scuba Shack which was a nice, small, family owned operation. There were a total of 4 certified divers & 2 discover scuba students on our trip. We dove a couple sites at the John Pennekamp State Park.

This was my first dive after certification. I was very comfortable completing all of my tasks underwater during certification & was very quick at learning how to control my bouyancy ... even usng the horrible jacket type BC i was given to use in class. Needless to say, the first piece of gear that I purchased after my class was my BC. I was very intrigued with a BP/W setup. I opted to purchase the Zeagle Express Tech due to the its light weight & cheap price. About 5 min into my dive in Key Largo I had my Express Tech dialed in & was more comfortable with it than I ever was in my rental BC. Honestly, I found the diving in Key Largo to be less of a challenge than I had hoped. I realize that I have quite a bit to learn yet but I am very eager to be challenged. If anybody in the Baltimore area is doing any diving anytime soon feel free to shoot me a PM. My fiancee is my official dive buddy but she is more interested in vacation style diving. I am interested in logging some dives & learning as much as I can.

Mike
