Brian I also just bought a new Mares M1 dive computer, and have the same problem that the two buttons are very hard to push. I just thought that this is normal. I foresee problems while diving. Hope someone response with an answer.

I have the Mares MC1 ( console model ) The buttons are hard to push but I have become use to them. I don't have any problems using it now.

For those with the integral console model ( ie: pressure gauge, computer and compass ) , there seems to be a major problem with the air hose to the console. As you traverse through cold thermoclines, the hose pressure fittings shrink and a major air leak developes. Several have failed here. I suspect Mares may recall them.

I did buy the IRIS InfraRed link for the computer and it works great (for me )
