Hey yall,
just got my open water, and looking forward to getting some gear of my own. If anyone has any tips or suggestions let me know. Was looking at some back plates and wings to start out on, but theres a lot out there.

Bp/W is a great way to start as it will allow you grow into it and the sport. There is alot of variations by different companies.
I like and Dive the Halcyon Eclipse System. Great thing with these is once you have it set if you decide to go to doubles all you need to is change the wing. There several other companies who make great set-ups also such as Hollis,Diverite,OMS,HOG

In my opinion, Scubapro is the best gear you can get. My gear is all Scubapro and I bought it when i just started diving three years ago and I havent changed any of my gear yet. Scubapro is very dependable. But this is just my opinion. Good luck and enjoy your many years to come of diving (:
