New excess baggage fees for Cebu Pacific.

Effective July 8 Cebu Pacific Airlines is increasing their excess check-in baggage fees.

Domestic flights go from 50 to 100 pesos per kilo over 20 kilos.

International flights will be 300 pesos per kilo for excess check-in bags.

Ouch.

I suspect that it's only the beginning and other airlines will be following. Much more and people will start leaving most of their gear at home and renting when they get there.

yea... they only allowed group check-in if all the names are under 1 single booking. There were 13 of us in a group but under different bookings. Most of us ended up paying for the excess...

PAL just changed the baggage allowance on SF to MNL flights from 70lbs. to 50lbs.! Lucky I bought the ticket before the cut off date.
