ive really gotten into photography recently, my pictures come out okay but diving in NE im lucky to get over 10 ft of vis.

what i want to know is whats a good camera for new england waters? i have a simple point and shoot sony that works well when i mess around with the settings. i was looking at the sealife DC 1200 for my next step (i can get a decent deal at my lds)

i understand that my best pictures are macro, nice and close, so how can i make those photos better?

Since you looking to step up from a basic point n' shoot I wouldn't consider Sealife's cameras. I would look into getting a camera which has full manual control, accepts wet lenses and shoots RAW. If your not looking to break the bank, your best bet is a Canon S90 with the Canon OEM Housing. A strobe "or 2" will increase your effectiveness in shooting in low visibility waters by eliminating the amount of back-scatter you get in your shots. You might consider getting a strobe first to use with your Sony and then moving on to another camera later on.
