I saw on their facebook page that they just bought a hyperbaric chamber for their dive boat.

Hello Everyone,

Well, as usual the online community is on top of their game. We have brought our website online ahead of our inaugural charter season. We were surprised at the instant and overwhelming response from the dive community, and very thankful as well. Our website is in its infancy and already getting over 200 hits a day! Once again, thank you.

The company will issue a formal statement soon, but just to address a few of the questions raised in this thread:

1. Darkwater Expeditions is bringing a commercial vessel to the northeast to serve as a liveaboard for recreational and technical diving charters.

2. We intend to be operational in late spring. A hard ETA will be given as soon as available.

3. We do have a 2 part commercial hyperbaric chamber that will be on board the vessel for emergency use. We acquired it this weekend. One of our certified Diving Medical Technicians (DMT) will be on board every trip.

4. We will offer Andrea Doria Charters, and anticipate the cost to be between $1200 and $1500 per person.

5. We operate out of Massachusetts.

6. Our Employees are not volunteers. They are polite and professional. We believe our employees represent some of the best the Maritime and Commercial Diving sectors have to offer. Many are former US Military Servicemen.

You can find us on the web (actually, you already did) and on Facebook.

Thank you Dive Community, you certainly know how to roll out the welcome mat!

Best Regards,
Chad Smith
