Hi all. Canadian here currently in Vietnam and just finished my OWC here in Nha Trang with Angel Dive. I chose the SSI Qual.
My wife and I did 7 dives over 3 days. We loved it. I was a bit leary about doing the "resort qual" but it turned out very good with the instructors we had. They were very picky about buoyancy and safety. And we even did a few skills not included on the curriculum. (I sucked at taking my gear off on the bottom lol)
The visibility wasn't very good but we did get to see a lot of cool fish and marine life. We dove to 18 meters on our second last dive.

This is definitely somethng we will continue to do.
I have lurked quite a bit here and have already gotten a lot of good info.

I look forward to gaining more experience once back in Canada or on other holidays.

Thanks
T

Welcome aboard. Sounds like you got a pretty well trained and the conditions gave you a little more chance to develop skills. When you get back to Canada I suggest you use the buddy finder function to meet ups with some locals who can advise you of local conditions. They should be able to put you in touch with appropriate local resources to help you with any additional training you may need for the different conditions!

I wish you many years of safe and happy diving:happywave:

Thanks a lot. We look forward to more dives. Now I just have to convince the wife the the St Lawrence river is just as nice as the South China sea. ;)

I wouldn't suggest you try that.. but convince her that the wrecks in the Great Lakes area are the envy of saltwater wreck divers. They stay intact much longer because of the fresh water... you just have to work out the right sales pitch!:)
