Hi, im new to both this forum and diving really and need some advice!

I've only dove once; 2 years ago in greece. Problem is, i absolutely loved every second and every seek since then i've thought about diving and wanted to learn the basics.

Diving in the UK doesn't really appeal to me and i have 3 months in the summer so i was thinking about doing a DM intern on koh tao or somewhere nice warm. (I know its a *big* gap between nothing/OW to DM but i want to be in a position where i could take a few months out and work in a dive shop somewhere later on).

Does anyone have any good recommendations for courses? I dont just want a peice of card which says im a dive master, i want experience and i want to learn more than anything. But 3 months is limited for that really so i'd want to work for them the following summer as a DM just practicing and learning everything fully.

So does anyone know a nice dive shop, somewhere sunny, where they'll take an intern for 2 summers (3 months each; 1 for DM then next for working for experience)? I know it'll just be cleaning boats, carrying equip etc and diving would pretty much be a privilege till i get my DM, but i dont really mind!

The other option is to build it up slowly over a year in the UK then work next summer (our local dive shop doesn't really get much business so doesn't really need a DM)

Any other idead/advice/option's are very welcome!

Thanks!

Jamie

IF you want to learn to DIVE,do your self a favor,do it in the UK.I know it's harder and colder but it will make you a better diver.
Take the OW.AOW and Resque in the UK and then think about a career in diving.
Maybe do DM in a warm location, but not the basics, please :shakehead:

BTWwelcome to SB and have a nice diving life:D
