Hi there I am Jorge I am in the process of geting my Open Water & Nitrox Certifications
after 13 years of wanting to do so I am finaly doing it & since I am going on a cruise to Grand Caiman, Roatan, Belize & Cozumel in Oct 2010, I figured what better excuse to do so

Will be doing my OW Dives in a Quary here I will keep you all posted when I finish my Cert.:D

Hi Jorge! Welcome!

I'm assuming you'll be doing your open water check- outs at Pennyroyal (Quarry in Hopkinsville, KY). Is that also where your are taking your classes? I am a part time (pinch hitter) instructor for them & I am down there most weekends during the warm season. If you're ever looking for a dive buddy, just look me up. As long as I'm not teaching a class, I'm usually looking to dive for fun. Just look for the yellow/ orange drysuit- I wear it all the time.

Yes that is corect but my instructor is Marcus form Scuba Nashville just let me know when you go I dont have my own BC so I will need to rent but I am looking to do a couple of dives before I go on my cruise.

Welcome aboard. One thought about diving off a cruise ship - we regularly sail on Royal Carribean and the dives book quickly. I would strongly suggest booking dives online before sailing. RC has a 24 hour cancellation policy on booking so you can back out of any dive as long as it is 24 hours before the dive port. Last time we sailed - Roatan, Costa Maya were completely booked before we ever set sail. We were however, able to walk-off and find local dives at both locations.

Enjoy your classes. Pennyroyal has full rentals, so I'm sure you can find something.

For sure I know I'll be at Pennyroyal Memorial day weekend I have a class to do for Aquatech (I have 2 students to do check- out dives with on Sat. & Sun.). I am thinking about going down & diving (for fun) on Fri. & may also stay on until & do some diving Mon. (not 100% sure on mon.). The first weekend of June I'll be doing an Advanced Adventurer course at the quarry. I am always looking to dive & will do so even after my classes. Just let me know when you are available. I always welcome new divers to dive with me. :blinking:

see you all at Pennyroyal on Memorial Day weekend I shal be geting my Open Water Cert on Sat and Sun

I shall also be finishing some OW students from my LDS, that weekend. I will be with another instructor. We will have about 14 students. I plan to camp Sat. for sure,... maybe Fri. Found out the quarry will not be open to diving on Fri, but they may allow camping. Looking forward to meeting you. Look for my yellow/ orange drysuit & I'll be driving an older grey Toyota RAV4. If on the weekend of June 5 & 6th you're there, I have to do an advanced adventurer course, but can dive after the class is done.
