Hey all, I finished my certification yesterday in Monterey. 5-10 vis at best and surge but it was all worth it.

Sorry, I'm just excited.

Welcome to the board...Congrats on getting ceriifed

Hi bolantej, congrats on your certification, I got certified in warm water, then started diving cold.

You need to change your dive profile as you are now certified :)

5-10 is really bad visability so you are already getting used to dealing with the lack of visability when diving on the California coast. It can be up to 70 feet in the Monterey area so don't let it discourage you.

Man, wouldn't that be something to get 70 at the breakwater. 5-10 is REALLY NICE lately. It's been so crappy the past couple weeks, I just hope for anything over 1 foot.

Well, I still had a great time, even without anything to look at but my dive buddy. Behind the Spindrift was the pits. SUPER surgy and the walk up the beach afterwards was tiring. Gonna try some lake dives real soon. Not sure exactly where, though.

Hey, congratulations!!!!

I see you got that weighty issue of your buoyancy in the pool worked out!

From Sacramento, you could drive up to Lake Tahoe (or thereabouts) & get your altitude cert!

I'll be in Monterey this October. Don't know if I'll have time to catch a dive, though...
