Hello everyone!

I joined this site a few months after I got certified to access it's wealth of knowledge. I originally got certified while backpacking in Thailand and the Philippines. To my surprise, I found that Vancouver also had an active Scuba Diving community. I got into cold water diving and promptly got humbled because it turned out to be much harder than warm water diving.

It has been a fun journey of learning, becoming competent and exploring my home waters since then.

So far, I've dove in Thailand, the Philippines, Bonaire and around BC. And loved every second of it!

I like to call walking into that dive shop in Thailand 'my most expensive mistake' and I knew I would never be able to quit once I had my first 'Planet Earth' moment being dumbstruck at the majesty of all the sea-life at Sail Rock near Koh Tao. I have had many 'Planet Earth' moments since then.

I am PADI-certified and looking to get into tech (either The Cult/GUE or something else). My dream dive is Bikini Atoll and the recently-sunken Moskva (in Ukraine) I love diving wrecks in general. And, in a similar vein, I want to get into cave diving one day as well. Bonus points if they were principle-surface-combatants that were sunk in combat.

I will likely be looking to learn how to service my own regulators and vis my own (steel) tanks soon.

Looking forward to interacting with you all!

Congrats! I'm an active GUE diver over in Victoria - I know there's a very strong GUE community on the island and in Seattle as well, less sure about the mainland. The ARSBC has sunk a bunch of wrecks around BC, including one that Sea Dragon goes to out of Horseshoe Bay quite frequently. There's no shortage of wrecks in BC waters, although a lot of our 'natural' wrecks are now piles of debris with only anchors/boilers/prop shafts left.
