Welcome to the board ,I think you will find it a great place to get info and knowledge.
I just have one comment Take your time and be comfortable with each level as you move thru the classes. They will accent each other so dont be in a hurry to move up levels. Its all about having fun and if that aint happening it aint happening for me .

Cheers
Michael

Hey, BIGGUYtiny,
Welcome aboard! This Board has been afloat since 2000 and that tells you how valuable it can be for divers, new and old.

I can only echo Michael's advice: take your time and enjoy the ride. There is simply no reason to rush. Frankly, I think your money is best spent just diving and not getting one more rating from PADI, et al. The one exception: Nitrox. If you have good bottom times, Nitrox will be a godsend. But the key is to have good bottom times...and that just takes dives, dives, and more dives. Since you live in FL, that should not be a problem.

If you want a goal, try this one: 100 dives in your first year of cert. :D

joewr...remembering my first dives...30 minutes and "Oops, where did all that air go?":(
