Just wanted to introduce myself. My wife and I were just certified last weekend for our upcoming trip to Maui. We have been looking for a long time for a hobby for both of us to do and enjoy. I spend most of my fall hunting and summers are for the lake house and fishing. NO way I was going to get my wife into my hobbies. Like wise, I'm not down with scrapbooking or shopping for sport. So here we are as newly certified divers and looking forward to the trips and dives ahead of us. Any advice you can give two newbies is more than welcome and look forward to sharing our experiences with the group.

Welcome and congrats!

I wish my wife would take the plunge to scuba! I would not have to buy everything " on sale " ;)

All I can say is lucky you.
My wife has no plans of ever going scuba diving.
Take the dives nice and easy, don't push any deep or hard dives till both of you are comfortable in the water.
Next start to plan the next vacation trip for diving. Cancun would be a nice trip, has a night life and an ocean with clear water to go diving in.

Enjoy and welcome to the board from another flat lander.

Congrats on getting certified. Have fun in Maui. I loved it there and would love to make it back there again some day. Hopefully you'll get into local diving. There are some great shipwrecks in Lake Michigan for all levels.

Congratulations on finding something you can enjoy together! I met my husband on a scuba trip he set up, a friend took me along as her buddy. Diving together the last 10 years has given us a whole new way to communicate :D

Sounds like you might be into scrapbooking soon ;) Memorabilia and pictures from your dive trips make GREAT scrapbook subjects. My dive log is in a three ring binder along with postcards from places I've been diving and fish stickers decorating the log pages :D

Enjoy your trip! Dive safe!
