So I'm Dustin, or as I've become known in many circles as the Old bleeping New Guy, hence the nick name, OldFNG. I'm not Old, but in one of my jobs they kept firing the new guy, so they would introduce the me to the new guy whenever they hired a replacement as the Old Bleeping New Guy.
I've got a stack of hobbies outside of diving, I collect Mk4 Toyota Supras, fly Gliders (engineless airplanes) and otherwise find ways of keeping myself busy.
For work I'm an Information Security Analyst, I basically stop bad guys from breaking into a banks computer systems.
Now for the part everybody has been waiting for, I went on my honeymoon to jamaica and got hooked on diving, logged 17 dives in two weeks. Wound up doing my Open Water, Advanced Open Water and Deep Diver certification while I was down there.
Now I'm back in Alberta and I'm pretty much a hollis poster boy. Hollis Dry Suit, BCD, Thermal Underwear, Neoprene Hood, Rock Boots. Oceanic Regulator System. Decent dive computer, dive knife etc. Only thing I need to rent right now is lead.
Going on my drysuit course this weekend and I'm looking forward to what cold alberta diving has to offer. My biggest goal from being on here is to learn from the experiences from others and become an overall safer diver.
