Can anyone recommend a good dive company/places to dive in New Caledonia? my husband and myself will be visiting Noumea in June for 1 day, as we will be on a cruise through the south pacific and it is one of the stops. We are getting our open water certification next month, and we wont have any of our own equipment aside from fins. I had a quick browser search but it didnt come up with much, and mine fields and shark feeding are not my idea of fun! (although my husnad will love that) Any suggestions would be fantastic!!

Hi Zoe,

Are you doing a P&O cruise? I did one a couple of years ago and managed to get a couple of dives in. Not sure about your itineray if you are doing P&O, but in Port Vila, the ship normally offers a single dive as a shore tour. If they do, make sure you book it pretty much as soon as you get on the boat otherwise you will miss out. That was with Nautilis Scuba. You could contact them before hand to see if they still do it and if they don't organise a dive or two through them.
I also had a stop in the Isle of Pines and organised a dive through Kunie Scuba. This was all done via email before leaving and they picked us up where the tender boats bring you in.
I'm not sure about Noumea, but I belive Aimidee (?spelling) is the best place to try. If you do a net search for scuba & Noumea or Amidee you should find out some info.

Thanks, yeah its P&O, the only main island it stops at is noumea, the other ports are mystery island, wala and poum, which they say have no roads etc, let alone dive companies. I'll look up Amidee.

i googled and it is Amedée diving club. but it is mostly complete day ( 2 dives ); so you should send a mail to expose what you want and what you can do.
