Hi guys, long time reader first time poster....love all the good opinions handed out so far though.

The reason i am posting here now is that the time for me to take the plunge and buy my first bc is very near. I've kinda narrowed it down to the bc that i can both afford and i think would suit me best.

I can see myself sticking at this scuba lark for quite some time as the bug has apparently bitten me and burrowed under my skin...not such a nice thought i know... by-gone's.

Down to business: The bc i am looking seriously at is the Northern Diver Sea Eagle dual bladder. I want a winged bc as i feel it will give the best comfort factor in the water and almost all techy's seem to get them. I can see myself becoming a big wreck/tech diver in the near future.

Divernet liked it , http://www.divernet.com/equipment/0302divertests.htm and it looks like a pretty good piece of kit. Just what daddy ordered.

Another BC that was in the running, perhaps still is, is the Poseidon Techlift.

Any thoughts about either?

There are three rules to good technical equipment. Keep it simple, simple, simple.

Using a broad brush I'd say that if it looks really neat and way cool, it's not good technical equipment.

With all those D-rings, bungees and hoses, that BC looks really cool, if you get my drift.

I'd highly recommend you go through and read all the back plate notes in this conference. Backplates are simple, robust and can take you all the way from recreational to technical diving without having to replace equipment.

Search/look for BP, back plate and wings. You'll see some, shall we say "spirited" debates around wings.

Though some responses may show up here, for exhaustive research use the search function or just look though this and maybe even the technical category.
