.....saw a brief mention of a new Atomic Aquatics reg, with no details provided, called the "ST1"..... Rodales Scubadiving mag will be testing it and including this model in their 2007 July annual new reg test issue...but again, no details/info provided...can anyone share any info they have on this new model...including release for sale date ?

Thanks,

Karl

Did a Google search and found a brief quote from divernet.com regarding a display at DEMA.

"Atomic displayed its latest ST1, the stainless-steel version of its acclaimed turret-style, piston-type regulator already available fashioned from different metals as the M1, B2 and T2."

I'll curious too so I'll PM darcyatomic....

I saw this at DEMA. The ST1 is a stainless steel version of their current regs. Price wise it will sit between the B2 and T2. Like all of the their regs because they all have the same design that it will perform similarly. It will appeal to the diver with $$ who can not afford the T2 and wants to standout from the rest who have the B2.

Here's their reply:

I don't have too many details yet since it is not a finished product. We are hoping to release in the next few months. I believe the pricing will be somewhere between the T2 and B2. Should have more info in about a month. I can tell you that the brushed stainless looks awesome! I'm even considering using it instead of my T2! ( well maybe

BRUSHED stainless?

aww man.. why do they have to make it sexy? i want one now :(

my b2 might get jealous

My question though, is what does stainless steel buy you over brass?
Titanium has zero corrosion. But stainless steel rusts. So will it have any superior qualities compared to chrome plated brass?

Well you can send your B2 my way. It will have lots of friends with my (1) T1, (2) B2, and (1) M1 ;)

No, no, sir. It is time for me to start hoarding more gear than I can possibly use :p

Its not hoarding, its an addiction and as such should be viewed with compassion!

Did I mention the 2 Zeagles and 2 Apexs regs I have also :(

Well at least I sold my US Diver's Reg....
