Have a Nerd2 on my rebreather. Excellent bit of kit.

Alas I'm having problems with the charging clip; seems that the micro USB cable connector is not working unless you move the cable into that "magic" position where it does work -- reminds me of scratching the back of a dog in "that" place. Took me ages to get the thing to charge. Have tried various micro USB cables to no avail.

I guess the issue's with the charging clip and the only fix is to replace that clip?

Anyone else had this problem?

Yes. If you’ve already cleaned the pins, it’s often a problem of the pin on the clip not being fully extended. It’s a poor design, or at very least a poorly manufactured charging clip. SW generally pretty good about taking care of it.

Be mindful that the engineering behind where the depth sensor is placed is relatively poor and prone to failing because of where it is connected. When they’re working, it’s a great bit of kit (however can’t see it in a total whiteout).
