Third time was the charm.
Despite terrible visibility, and unpleasent surface conditions, the wife and I took the Neptune II NIRA masks back in the water today, and had our first successful diving experience.
We did a 32 minute dive with a max depth of 43 fsw. During the dive we were able to use the communication system quite well. We both managed to get the mask straps fitted comfortably, and neither had any concerns about mask slippage or air leaks.
The masks continue to surprise me with their ability to remain defogged despite no application of defogger. If they were ever going to fog, today would have been the day.
Our next dive will be to 60fsw or deeper as we continue to gain familiarity and practice boyancy control with the masks.
