Hi. Does anyone know how to turn the backlight on permanently? Can't find any instructions on this but the Mares site says you can.

Many thanks.

Kiwi,

The Nemo does not offer permanent backlight option. Press and hold the top button the backlight will come on for apprx 3 seconds.

The permanent backlight feature is available on our MC1 and M1 computers.

Best regards,

Thanks Zak. Any idea why it clearly says on the Mares website (and quite a few online gear shops) that the titanium has a permanent light?

I vaguely remember trying a steel nemo and the whole face lit up (? might be wrong there). The titanium only lights up the numbers.

You are correct. This is a misprint on the website. The only answer i can think of re: online stores is they are taking the text from our site re: the backlight?

We have different backlights for the Steel Nemo and Titanium. Just as you explained. Steel the background lights up, and on the Titanium the #'s illuminate. I personally prefer the Titanium display. This is strictly a personal preference.

I'll look into having the website reviewed.

Thank you,

Oh well, still a great watch/comp. Guess I'll just have to take my torch!

Thanks for the prompt reply Zak.

How come retailers are offering a black nemo yet I don't see it on your site? Is it the same as the steel nemo from a background lighting up perspective?

The black Nemo was created specifically for a special Christmas 2005 promotion called "Black Passion". This promotion included 3 items, Demon mask, Quattro Excel fins, and the Nemo. All 3 items were colored black in nature, and have their own unique packaging.

As for the backlighting on the Nemo, it is like the Titanium. The black on the watch is an additional process called PVD which makes it more scratch resistant and gives it that black smokey look. Black Passion Nemo also comes in a nice jewelry box, w/ display protector, extending band, and it simply looks cool!

Hope that clears it up.

ebay maybe? I don't know any dealers still offering these. Good luck.

I found the backlight on my Nemo Titanium hard to figure out. I even thought it was broken and took it back to the store. It should be more clear in the directions book, I think. Other than that, its a pretty sweet computer! And looks nice too!
