I have set up a group next November on the Nekton, Belize southern itinerary.

First, any suggestings regarding what to take? Anything special

Second, any advise on how things work on board? Schedules, cabins, etc.

Finally, I have a great price for this trip, $300 off the Nekton normal price. I have posted info on my personal website at http://nekton.ncdiver.com.

Thanks, Perry

As little as possible. Multiple bathing suits; lightweight sandals, windbreaker for between dives/evenings; multi-plug extention cord (if you are doing photo) so that you have enough inputs for recharging electronics.

Daily routine is pretty much the same. They tend to move the boat at night and during lunch. Breakfast is generally around 7 AM, then there's a dive breifing and then the pool is open until lunch. Boat repositions during lunch, then there's another dive site breifing and the pools open again until dinner time. If there is going to be a night dive they generally go to that sight after lunch so that divers can see the location in daylight and be somewhat familiar with it at night. Every evening there is an (optional attendance for divers) video presentation on various topics - mostly sea life.

As far as cabins go ...our preference is the main (upper) deck. Better views and more convenient access to the galley. All cabins are really great but the 2 forward bow cabins on the port or starboard sides of the ship are our favorites.

Would love to join you but our liveaboard trips are generally in the Spring. We did the Nekton Belize intinerary in March 2005 and 2006. Next May we are doing the Nekton Caymans itinerary. A total aside ...but we were married on the Nekton Rorqual the night before it sailed on a Bahamas itineray. Oh, did I tell you that we were HUGE Nekton fans !!

Enjoy your trip !!
