My 40d and 60mm lens are here, ikelite housing and port, as well as the ds125 strobe will be here thurs! i leave friday for a week dive trip, EXPLORER 1 Bahamas. What type of bag to yall carry your camera gear? Is there a backpack type big enought for all that? NOTE: wife is at the end of rope! i can not spend 300.00 more on a bag!
thanks mike

LOL there are 100s of bags out there and finding just the right one is a huge task.

Personally, I pack my housing, ports and strobes in checked luggage. Most of the time I pack everything in checked luggage. Usually I use my Canon 200 backpacks (under $50) for the camera and lenses, chargers, batteries blah blah blah and for as much uw stuff as I can get in there. I also use the collapsible coolers to pack gear in. Everything else is padded with clothes.

I detest carrying stuff on an airplane almost as much as I detest the people who bring 600 pounds of stuff on with them.

If you do want to carry most of your stuff on, and you don't really have that much, try just a normal backpack. I can get all of my uw rig into my LL Bean backpack, including the big dome port. Just takes some ingenuity ;)

I can't believe you are getting your gear the day before you leave LOL Talk about jumping in the deep end!

Have a fabulous time.

I use a small carry-on that I pack all of my photography gear in as well as my prescription mask. Not much room for anything else except a few t-shirts as packing material!

Dive gear goes in a checked bag along with clothes, etc..

I bought the Carryon Pelican Case, however, not sure the 40D with housing and strobe would fit in the Pelican carryon. A friend of mine has I believe the Canon 5D with housing and two strobes. He packs his in a Pelican Case and checks it.
