We will be going to ST Thomas staying at Frenchmans Reef Marriott.

Need suggestions

What are the best dive Ops?

Best boat dives?

Best Shore dives?

Best resturant?

Dave

Hi Dave, for diving, IMO the best shop is Admiralty Dive Shop. Duane and Laura are the owners and they will do anything they can to make your experience enjoyable with them. As far as dives go, if you are into wrecks, the WIT Shoal and WIT Concrete are excellent. I also suggest the Miss Opportunity. For reef diving there are so many. One of my faves is the Chrysler. To be honest with you, I never did any shore diving there so can't give you much advice on that. Now restaurants... So many fabulous ones. I hope you have a ridiculous budget because some of them are a little pricey but worth it. I love Havana Blue there at the Marriott. Also, Oceana has amazing food as well. Both of those are dinner only. For lunch at least one day, I suggest going up to Magen's Bay. There's a restaurant at Megan's Point Resort, I can't remember the name, but it also has great food. While you are there you must drink a Bushwacker and a Pain Killer. Jonny at the bar in Drake's Passage makes the best Bushwackers. If you ask for the Red-headed Sexy Fish, that is my personal concoction that was put together by Jonny for me. Hope he still has the recipe. That is my 2 cents on St. Thomas. I love it there. I will be back many times.

Havent been there in a long time.....but other important info.....cheapest booze at KMart!

Unless things have changed recently Underwater Safaris has a shop located at the Marriott. Underwater Safaris, St. Thomas US Virgin Islands (click About Us, then Dive Shop) No personal experience with them but it might be convenient.

Coki Beach is a shore dive location on the NE end of the island. Coki Beach Dive Club is at the entrance to Coral World. It's not a great dive but there is some reef there. It's fairly shallow. It seemed to get a little better past the Coral World outflow pipes to the right but the current picked up a lot past them in the later afternoon so we had to crawl out and walk back. Wasn't a problem earlier. It's also one of the locations the cruise operators bring divers and snorkelers.

We did boat dives off Grass Cay with DiveIn from the Sapphire Beach area. Good dives but nothing I'd recommend.
