Was just given a Nikon F100(film camera) w/28-105 compact zoom lens and a Sea & Sea NX-100 housing and dome port and a pair of Ikelite Substrobes (200 and a 100A).
Every thing is in very good conditon. Twisted part of story, 10 yrs ago I worked at a dive center in Rochester, MI that sold this set up to the original owner. I trained the camera owner how to use the housing & strobes. Flash forward 10 yrs. He has no use for the set up and gave it to me. Everything seems to be working fine, strobe batteries hold a charge, the capasitor(sp?) spool up, aiming lights work, but can't get the camera to fire the strobes. The camera seems to be working right. Waiting to develop a roll of film I shot aroung the house. I think I have the camera set up right. Downloaded the Nikon F100 manual. I am in the process of tracking down a Nikonos V, sold mine years ago, so I can check the strobes and sync cords. Would like to use the the set up to shoot Great Lakes ship wrecks, most likley in B&W as system is to heavy to travel with any more with all the weight restrictions. Any ideas on where I might be missing something? Contacted Sea & Sea they don't have any old manuals in CA and said they are contacting Japan HQ to see if they have any english versions over there. Thanks, Hank

Check the camera with a dedicated flash head like the SB-28.
Check the bulkhead with a current checker, check each contact on the bulkhead against it pin on the end of the cable that connects to the camera hot-shoe, that's the weakest link.
Then do the same tests on the sync cords.
Then try to switch strobes.
If nothing works, send the setup to me as a gift! I'll pay the shipping charges!

You don't need a dedicated flash to check the camera. Any hot-shoe mount flash will do.

Two cords and bulkheads or a double ended cord and one bulkhead?

Mariozi has it right that the bulkheads and cords are the weakest links,
