Hi all,

I have been out of diving for a number of years. And now since I live in a place where I can dive more. I am looking into getting back into diving and get as many certificates as I can from padi. So, I am looking for a BCD that will be the most versicle. What would you guys recommend? I have been looking at the Aqua lung latitude xlt, oceanic probe and outrigger and both zeagle ranger. thank you for your time and help.

Welcome back. I just recently got back into diving after a long absence myself.

I read good things about the Zeagle Ranger, but I am not really in a position to advise.

Most people on this site will probably advise you against a regular BCD and try and persaude you to go for the backplate with wings.

Also, be ready for a few cheap shots about being labelled a "badge collector" (don't worry - I am one too - type A personality, can't resist hunting qualifications).

Well, I just have alot of time on my hands. Need to do something.. lol :D

why bother spend tons of money on expensive BC's like the ranger, wen u can get a simple very reliable cressi BC for less than $250 that will last u a very long time and simple to use

I have to say, when I bought a new BC the other day (old one works fine, but at 18 years old, its time is limited), I got one second hand off LP for $60. But you get flamed for giving that advice.

I have two Rangers for open water and have no regrets.I also have a BP/WING.which to me is superior.

Well, since it is mentioned, why not take a look into a backplate/wing system. Might be something you would be interested.

For me, I would prefer to dive in them any time possible (I use conventional BC jackets when I teach).
