I have been building a house and My Galapagos plans have been on the back burner, Now time is close and I am scrambling.

I am landing in Bogota Sept 13th, would like to go to Lima for about a week to visit MPicchu and head on over to Quito and pop over to the Aggressor to do my week there from the 22nd to the 29th, We then fly out again from Quito to Bogota then from Bogota back to Canada.

Has anyone gone directly to any of the SA airlines and booked? I just tried AVIANCA AIR and my booking was denied telling me I have to go to a travel agent and book at a higher cost. Does anyone know why? Can I land and book out of Bogota when I get there? at their prices? or do tourist just pay more?

Any suggestions would be really appreciated. TIA

Avianca and Air Canada used to have a flight from Toronto to Bogota, and then on to Quito, and you could book online, but they would issue two seperate tickets. I ran into this problem several times with this option, as I could not do an e check in for the Bog-Quito portion on line before leaving Toronto, and I ended up getting bumped off the flight, even though I had purchased the ticket and the connections as one. (not fun...I was 7 months pregnant at the time!) . I have heard the same situation happened to many people, so maybe that´s why you can no longer do it (?)

You could probably do your tickets in segments on your own on line, and avoid the travel agents all together. There are several companies that fly within south america if you have the patience to hunt and peck for the best deals.

Good luck!
