Dee and others - help!

I am trying to find web reviews on UW digital cameras and there were a few websites that were listed earlier in this subject area but I can't seem to find the correct pages or threads right now.

If you have a favorite web site or web forum, etc. that you think would be helpful for me to browse, please list here?

Let me know what you are leaning towards. I was hoping for a relatively small camera, but now I'm leaning towards the Oly C4040Z (any comments on this camera or where to purchase it would be appreciated)...

I just got back from The Wiz where I went to take a look at the c4040z. They didn't have it, claimed it has been discontinued (there is a thread on dpreview where this is being hotly debated) but they did have a Sony DSP S85 for 599. Now, I have some Memory Stix from Sony (about 100 megs worth), so that would make this a little cheaper for me.

...I have narrowed my choices down to either the Canon S40 or the S30. Haven't quite decided yet if I want to spend the extra $100 on more mega pixels. Will visit photo shop next week and see if I can talk the price down a little from their published ones. (First I have to sell a few more things on eBay to rack up enough $$ for the new purchase.)

Do you know what you are planning on doing with the pictures? I have the A40, which is a 2 megapixel camera. The higher the pixel count, the more memory it'll take for the photos, so I get about 128 pics out of a 128 meg card. a 4 megapix would get about 64, with the 3 megapix getting 96. So the first thing is to keep that in mind when your buying a memory card... you definately won't be downloading between dives, but you _could_ change cards between dives.

So the number of pictures is the first thing to think about [e.g. the minuses of the larger megapix cameras]. The pluses to weigh in has to do with printing more than anything else [as far as I'm concened]. with my 2.0 megapix camera, I can print out a 5x7 and I can't tell that it was digital. I've not tried it, but if I print a 8x10 I'm pretty sure it'll look a little grainy. With the S30 you should be able to print out an 8x10 and not be able to tell it's digital. The S40 you could get a bigger print made. In your mind, is bigger better, or is 8x10 big enough?
