Hi Everybody,
I have a opportunity to stay 20 days in the South Coast of Brisbane in my friends'home. Could anybody tell me, is it easy to reach best dive spots in GBR from there?
I heard all well organised dive centers are based on at the north.
Any suggestion and/or info...
best fishes to all,

Easy...
Well I guess that depends on your defanition of easy, its a 2 hour flight north to Cairns from Brisbane, then a 3 day boat trip out to the Coral Sea for the best dive spots in on the GBR.
on boats such as

I would suggest also having a look at the diving in Byron Bay, 2 hours drive south of Bris

Short answer is no. You would have to drive up to like Gladstone, and head out to Heron Island or something like that to even get close to GBR.

In addition to Byron Bay you can dive the Solitary Islands from there, which are cool.
Dive shop we used was Jetty Dive Center, in Coffs Harbour.

But to see tropical coral reefs you gotta go much further north, and as posted above, you gotta go well offshore to get to pristene reefs.
