I'm a Fish!
I'm trying to go digital, finally, and I have a Canon S300 digital Elph handy.

I've located lots of places to buy a housing but I can't find a single description of the casing features. In particular I want to see if a external strobe can be fited to the housing? What are they? And where can I get one? How much? That kind of thing.

I like the S300, even thought its only a 2.1 MP camera so I would like to see if it'll work out.

On the other hand, I'm not sure if it wouldn't be better to see if I can scrape up enough cash for a new camera/housing setup.

I was looking at the Oly C5050 as it seems a good buy right now (ducks as flames spurt from the screen) but if anyone has a good suggestion for a Canon combo let me know.

Thank you all for your help in advance.

Let battle commence :eyebrow:

Paul

Judjing from the total lack of replies to this post I have to assume no one has heard of this housing?

Anyone?? Please??

Thanks.
Paul.

Hi,

I used to have the S400 and the housing to go with it (WP-DC800) and loved it. I didn't do it but could have attached a strobe. I now have the S500 digital elph and the WP-DC800....same thing I think...I can attach a strobe if I want to. Not sure about your S300 cam and the housing. You could always go to the canon website and get the customer service phone number and give them a call. Maybe they can answer you for sure.

According to the manual for the Inon D180 strobe, it will work with your camera, as well as the wide angle and macro lens from Inon.
Here's the housing...

A strobe will be fitted to a "tray" that will screw into the bottom of the camera.

See this thread for pictures.
